DESCRIPTION

The ne interface provides access to a 10 Mb/s Ethernet network through a controller using the Fujitsu NICE (Local Area Network Controller for Ethernet) MB86960 chip.  For a general description of network interfaces see if(4N). 

DIAGNOSTICS

neinput: trailer error 
An incoming packet claimed to have a trailing header but did not.

ne: CRC error 
The driver has received a packet with an incorrect checksum field.

ne: alignment error 
The driver has received a packet containing a noninteger multiple of eight bits and there was a CRC error.

ne: overflow error 
The NICE Ethernet card has stopped receiving because there is no further space in its on-board buffer. 

ne: short packet error 
A received packet does not meet the minimum length requirement of 60 bytes.
