ENABLENUMLOCK(1) — USER COMMANDS
NAME
enablenumlock, disablenumlock − enable or disable the numlock key
SYNOPSIS
enablenumlock
disablenumlock
AVAILABILITY
Sun386i systems only.
DESCRIPTION
When you press the “Num Lock” key and then press one of the keys numbered R1 through R15 on the right keypad, the character on the upper part of the key is generated rather than the key’s function.
Under SunOS 4.0, “Num Lock” was enabled only in DOS windows and in some third-party UNIX applications. With Sun386i SunOS 4.0.1 and later releases, “Num Lock” is enabled by default for the right keypad in all SunOS windows. This causes an incompatibility with UNIX applications with special work around code to enable the “Num Lock” key. They require the use of disablenumlock under 4.0.1 and later versions. DOS applications are not affected.
enablenumlock re-enables “Num Lock” for applications that expect it to be enabled.
