NAME

mkfnames − create full name database

SYNOPSIS

mkfnames [ file  ... ]

DESCRIPTION

The mkfnames program uses the named files as input and writes a sorted database suitable for use as the full name database for smail(8) on the standard output. The format of an input line is defined by nptx(8). If no files are specified, then the password file is used as the file to parse and an attempt is made to put it into the format needed by nptx. There is no guarantee that a usable file will result because there are so many different password file formats.
