ne − NE2000 Novell Ethernet board

DESCRIPTION

The ne interface provides STREAMS access to the NE2000 (and compatible) Ethernet controller.  The driver is provided with IEEE 802.2 LLC Class 1 and Ethernet encapsulation of data by the llc(7) driver.  All communication with the ne driver is done via function calls between ne and llc.

CONFIGURATION

The space.c file provides a mechanism for specifying the operating parameters to the driver.  To configure the driver, the sysadm command can be used.  Note that up to 4 NE2000 boards can be configured.  All of the Interrupt Requests (IRQs) available on the card are supported by the driver.  If a NE2000 board’s Interrupt Request Vector is set to 2, it should be configured as 9 into the kernel.
