NAME
     menuitemuserptr:  setitemuserptr, itemuserptr - associ-
     ate application data with menus items

SYNOPSIS
     #include <menu.h>

     int setitemuserptr(ITEM *item, char *userptr);
     char *itemuserptr(ITEM *item);

DESCRIPTION
     Every item has an associated user pointer that can  be  used
     to  store  relevant  information.  setitemuserptr sets the
     user pointer of item.  itemuserptr returns the user pointer
     of item.

RETURN VALUE
     itemuserptr  returns  NULL  on   error.    setitemuserptr
     returns one of the following:
     E_OK           - The routine returned successfully.
     E_SYSTEM_ERROR - System error.

NOTES
     The header file <menu.h> automatically includes  the  header
     files <eti.h> and <curses.h>.
