XDD(8) — NEWS-OS Programmer’s Manual
NAME
xdd − xd server daemon
SYNOPSIS
/etc/xdd [ nservers ]
DESCRIPTION
xdd is the server daemon which handles xd client disk access requests on the xd server host using Remote Procedure Call (RPC). The xd device driver and the xd server daemon enable the xd client host to access the xd server host disk device.
When the xd device is used, it is necessary to set the /etc/xdconf file (see xdconf(5)) on the xd client host and the /etc/xddexports file (see xddexports(5)) on the xd server host to link the xd devices with the servers using the xdattach(8) command. For more information, see xd(4).
nservers is the number of xdd daemons to be started. Consider the system load on the server host to determine the number (normally 4).
FILES
/etc/xddexports− export description file for the xd server
/etc/xddstatus− setting status information on the xd server
