NAME
dmset − NEWS−OS display manager setup command
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sony/etc/dmset [ −x | −n ]
DESCRIPTION
dmset command cause to use display manager sxdm. dmset command set the DM= entry in /etc/rc.custom to sxdm, and ty_status entry of console in /etc/ttys to off.
After setup the /etc/rc.custom and /etc/ttys, dmset ask if reboot the system. If you key in y, immediately execute the reboot process. Otherwise, you have to reboot the system manually.
Options to dmset are:
−x option use xdm for sxdm.
−n If you don’t want to use both sxdm and xdm, you can use this option. It sets the ty_status entry of console in /etc/ttys to on. Then you can login on console by getty(8).
Only the super user is permitted to execute dmset command. You have to setup using −n option if you don’t use bitmap display as console.
