NAME
sxfloppy − NEWS Desk desktop tool, floppy disk utility
SYNOPSIS
sxfloppy [ −option ... ]
DESCRIPTION
sxfloppy program is a tool for formatting and copying floppy disks (2HD, 2DD) that runs on X.
This tool offers two formatting options: physical and logical (builds file system). The resulting formatted disks can then be mounted using sxfiler.
For detailed usage instructions, refer to Vol. 1 of the NEWS Desk User’s Guide in the NEWS-OS manual set.
The tool comprises an X11 based command (sxmenu) which is independent of it, its resource file (SXmenu) and special files prepared for use by the tool.
These files are normally put in the locations listed under FILES below.
PRECAUTIONS
When a disk is copied, a temporary file equivalent in size to the disk capacity (1,440 KB for 2HD, 720 KB for 2DD) is created in /usr/tmp. Care must therefore be taken to ensure that sufficient free space is available on the hard disk.
OPTIONS
sxfloppy accepts the following options.
−geometry geometry
Specifies the initial window geometry. Size cannot be specified.
−floppyPath path
This option is used if the files which are normally located under /usr/lib/X11/sx/sxfloppy have been put in a different place. The pathname of the location of the files is specified as path.
−sxmenuPath path
This option is used together with −floppyPath in cases where files which are normally located under /usr/lib/X11/sx/sxfloppy have been put somewhere else. For path, (path specified by −floppyPath)/menu.ascii/main should be specified.
RESOURCES
In the resource file (SXmenu), only resources common to commands used by sxmenu are specified. (Others are in sxadmin.)
MULTI LANGUAGE SUPPORT
Japanese (Shift-JIS/EUC), Korean (EUC) and English (ISO 8859-1) are supported.
