SNMPPERFMON(1)  —  NEWS-OS Programmer’s Manual

NAME

snmpperfmon − SNMP application to query for interface information

SYNOPSIS

snmpperfmon -c community [-i interval] [-r] ipaddress1 ipaddress2 .....  [-v [packets] [octets] [errors]]

DESCRIPTION

Snmpperfmon is an application used to monitor all interfaces of the gateways specified on the command line.  The monitoring is done by polling all the gateways periodically to get the values of all the queried variables and updating an internal state table accordingly, with the current state being displayed.

OPTIONS

The snmpperfmon application may be invoked with the following options:

-c community : community specifies a community name that will be used to poll all the gateways. If this option is not used, a community name must be given after each ip address.

-i interval : interval specifies the polling interval in seconds. This interval specifies how often interval will request information from each gateway being monitored. The default polling interval is 60 seconds.

-r : specifies that the rate of change of monitored variables is displayed.  Without this option, the absolute values of monitored variables are displayed.

-v : specifies the types of variables to be monitored.  By default, information is obtained on packet and byte throughput, and errors.  If the agent is NEWS, you have to specify "-v packets".
