NAME

mkdir − make a directory

SYNOPSIS

mkdir dirname ... 

DESCRIPTION

mkdir creates specified directories in mode 777.  Standard entries, ‘.’, for the directory itself, and ‘..’ for its parent, are made automatically. 

mkdir requires write permission in the parent directory.
