ISDNREC(1) — NEWS-OS Programmer’s Manual
NAME
isdnrec − record sound with ISDN/X.25 interface
SYNOPSIS
isdnrec filename [−l|−r|−s] [−t time] [−a] [−c]
DESCRIPTION
isdnrec records sound for time seconds (default 10 seconds) into filename. If the −a option is specified, isdnrec appends the sound to filename.
If no ISDN connection is established, the sound source is microphone/headset. Otherwise the source can be specified as option; default is −r.
−l Local, record my own voice (sound) only, like taking a memo during conversation.
−r Remote, record my partner’s voice during the conversaton.
−s Silent, recording my partner’s voice. Like in an answering machine, the partner cannot hear my voice.
Recording ceases upon ISDN disconnection, except if the −c (continue) option is specified.
The sound file is compatible with 8kHz mono mode of the Audio Interface. The PCM-encoding scheme is network dependent; mu-law is common in USA and Japan, while most European public ISDNs use A-law.
