NAME
sxedit − NEWS Desk desktop tool, text editor
SYNOPSIS
sxedit [−toolkitoption ...] [−file file_name]
DESCRIPTION
The sxedit program is a tool for creating and editing text based files that runs on X.
For detailed usage instructions, refer to Vol. 1 of the NEWS Desk User’s Guide in the NEWS-OS manual set.
OPTIONS
In addition to all the standard X Toolkit commands, sxedit also accepts the following options.
−file file_name
When this option is used, the specified file is opened, ready to be edited. If the option is not used, the program reverts to the mode for creating a new, unnamed text file.
RESOURCES
In addition to the resources defined by the widgets used by sxedit, the following are defined by the application itself.
backup_dir (class BackupDir)
Should a fatal error occur inside ,BR sxedit , the program terminates automatically. Should this happen, the data which was being edited is saved to the directory specified by this resource. The default is /usr/tmp.
MULTI LANGUAGE SUPPORT
Japanese (Shift-JIS/EUC), Korean (EUC) and English (ISO 8859-1) are supported.
