pgstat − show statistics for the pg network interface

SYNOPSIS

pgstat [ −zsd n ] [ system ] [ core ]

pgstat −l n firmware_file

AVAILABILITY

This program is available with the Networking software installation option.  Refer to OS/MP Release Notes for information on how to install optional software. 

DESCRIPTION

pgstat displays the contents of various status, error and statistics data structures for the pg network interface. 

The default value for the system argument is /vmunix; for core, the default is /dev/kmem. 

OPTIONS

−z Clear counters.  The values prior to being cleared are displayed. 

−s Display Station Management (SMT) information obtained from the controller. 

−d Display the driver information.  This is the default. 

−l Download specified firmware file to the controller, and restart controller. 

−n Display (clear) the state of interface eg n. The default interface is pg0. 

DISPLAY

The driver ( −d option) display contains information pertaining to the efficiency of the driver.  This includes a histogram of the number of packets serviced per interrupt from the board, and a histogram of packet-size frequency for receive and transmit. 

The Station Management ( −s option) display contains information obtained from the controller’s Management Information Block database (MIB).  This includes information about the station’s neighbors on the ring, timer values, state information and packet and error counters.  This information is not cleared by the -z option.
