timeoff(utilities) — Alias Research v2.1
NAME
timeoff − sets screen timeout to never blank
DESCRIPTION
Normally, when the user doesn’t touch the mouse or keyboard for several minutes, the console will blank to save the monitor phosphors. You may cause it to unblank by hitting a key or the mouse. During an operation such as dumping pix files to tape, this is undesirable. timeoff is called by the shoot shell script to prevent the recording of a blank screen. It is reset by the Alias package upon exit.
USAGE
Type timeoff. The screen will not blank during the middle of an operation.
COMMENTS
Type timeoff -i to get the version number. Old (unnumbered) versions will not be supported after this release.
