SETLOGOPT(1M) SETLOGOPT(1M)

NAME
setlogopt - set system administration logging options

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sysadm/privbin/setlogopt -rotsize rotsize -[no]syslog

DESCRIPTION
setlogopt is a privileged command that sets options that control system
administration logging. rotsize is the size in bytes that the log file
/var/sysadm/salog is allowed to reach before it gets rotated to
/var/sysadm/oldsalog. If -syslog is specified, messages in
/var/sysadm/salog will be copied to syslogd(1M). -nosyslog turns off the
     copying of messages to syslogd.

OPTIONS
     -rotsize rotsize
rotsize is the size in bytes that the log file
/var/sysadm/salog is allowed to reach before it gets rotated to
               /var/sysadm/oldsalog.

-syslog Specify that messages logged to /var/sysadm/salog should also
               be copied to syslogd(1M).

-nosyslog Specify that messages logged to /var/sysadm/salog should not be
               copied to syslogd(1M).

FILES
     /var/sysadm/salog The system administration log.
/var/sysadm/oldsalog Old system administration log. When the log is
                               rotated, /var/sysadm/salog is renamed
                               /var/sysadm/oldsalog, and the previous contents
                               of /var/sysadm/oldsalog are lost.
     /var/sysadm/salog.conf System administration logging configuration
                               file. setlogopt edits this file.
     /var/adm/SYSLOG The system log file.
