NAME
     addModem - add a modem to the system

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sysadm/privbin/addModem name port speed command access

DESCRIPTION
     addModem is a privileged command that edits configuration files and
     initializes a modem to prepare it to be used by higher-level software
     such as cu(1C) or ppp(1M).

OPTIONS
     name      This is the name of the modem in the /etc/uucp/Devices file.

     port      The serial port number this modem is attached to.

     speed     Baud rate to use to communicate with the modem.

     command   Initialization command for the modem, to prepare it for use by
               higher-level software.

     access    This should be either "Dial Out" if the modem is to be used for
               dialing out only or "Dial Out and In" if the modem is to be
               used both for dialing out and for receiving calls.

FILES
     /etc/uucp/Devices   Specifies name, device, and baud rate of modem.
     /etc/inittab        For incoming modems, a uugetty(1M) command is put
                         into the inittab(4) line for the serial device the
                         modem is attached to.
     /dev/ttym*          Serial device used to communicate with the modem.
