DOGSCORE(1D)  —  Silicon Graphics

NAME

dogscore − displays the dogfight score board

SYNOPSIS

/usr/people/demos/dogscore

DESCRIPTION

The dogscore program displays the score board for the dogfight and then exits.  Dogscore does not require graphics and therefore can be run on any terminal.  It reads the network for about half a second and then displays the score board for the dogfight game.

The score board is similar to the dog(1D) score board.  It includes the name of the player, the type of plane he is flying, number of wins, number of losses, and total score (wins − losses). A pilot scores a “win” when a projectile fired by his plane destroys another aircraft.  A pilot scores a “loss” when his aircraft is destroyed by a projectile or crashes.

BUGS

If a plane does not transmit an Ethernet dogfight packet during the half second that dogscore reads the network, then that plane’s score will not be displayed.
