nlogin(PADM) 06 January 1993 nlogin(PADM) Name nlogin - remote login via IPX and NVT Syntax nlogin [-v] rhost Description The nlogin command connects your terminal on the current local host sys- tem to the remote host system, rhost. This command is very similar to the rlogin command, one of the standard TCP/IP utilities. After executing nlogin, the remote host displays its login prompt; login as normal. To disconnect from the remote host, enter a ~. (a tilde fol- lowed by a period). Similarly, if you are running a shell on the local host that can perform job control, enter a <Ctrl>Z to suspend the nlogin session and return control to the shell on the local host. All echoing takes place at the remote site; consequently, except for delays, the remote login is transparent. Flow control, using <Ctrl>S and <Ctrl>Q, and flushing of input and output on interrupts are handled prop- erly. nlogin options are interpreted as follows: -v prints the IPX address of rhost after the name to address mapping has been performed See also rlogin(TC) Standards conformance nlogin is not part of any currently supported standard; it is an exten- sion of AT&T System V provided by the Santa Cruz Operation.
