nbstatus(LM) 06 January 1993 nbstatus(LM) Name nbstatus - get information about NetBIOS Syntax nbstatus [-n NetBIOSname] [[-a] [name ...] | -s] Description The nbstatus command allows you to get status directly from NetBIOS. For a local machine, nbstatus returns NetBIOS ``adapter'' status and NetBIOS session status information. For a remote machine, nbstatus returns Net- BIOS adapter status only. Much of this information is not relevant to the typical LAN Manager user. This utility is recommended for use in de- veloping network applications to check for erroneous information. For a detailed description of the nbstatus output, refer to the Administrator's Guide. Three options are available: -n NetBIOSname Returns information on the specified NetBIOS driver. This option should only be used when more than one NetBIOS driver is installed. NetBIOSname can be either the name of the NetBIOS or a numeric index into the table of available drivers, i.e. 0 or 1. If NetBIOSname is omitted or if an invalid name or num- ber is given, a list of valid names is displayed as output. -s Returns NetBIOS session status information from the local machine. [-a] [name ...] Returns NetBIOS ``adapter'' status information for the machine where the name(s) are registered.
