    sync - update the super block

 Syntax

    sync

 Description

    The sync command executes the sync system primitive.  If the system is to
    be stopped, sync must be called to ensure filesystem integrity.  Note
    that shutdown(ADM) automatically calls sync before shutting down the sys-
    tem.
