RLOGIND(ADMN) UNIX System V
Name
rlogind - remote login server
Syntax
/etc/rlogind
Description
rlogind is a network server that supports remote logins by
programs such as rlogin(TC). It is started by the
superserver inetd and, therefore, must have an entry in
inetd's configuration file /etc/inetd.conf. [See
inetd(ADMN) and inetd.conf(SFF).]
rlogind enforces an authentication procedure based on
equivalence of user names (see rhosts(SFF)). This procedure
assumes all hosts on the network are equally secure.
