       NAME
             osmlog - log of operating system messages

       DESCRIPTION
             When the system enters multi-user mode, a process is started
             that reads operating system messages from /dev/osm (osm(7))
             and records that information in /var/adm/log/osmlog.  This is
             an ASCII file.  Any applications wishing to monitor these
             messages should read them from the log file; not directly from
             the device.  At each reboot, the previous version of
             /var/adm/log/osmlog.  is renamed to /var/adm/log/osmlog.old.
             and a new copy is started.
