sapd(1M) sapd(1M)
NAME
sapd - NetWare service advertising protocol daemon
SYNOPSIS
sapd [-t]
DESCRIPTION
The sapd daemon listens for and processes Service Advertising
Protocol (SAP) packets received from NetWare servers. It also
sends out SAPs to advertise local services. sapd is started
by npsd(1M) if the nwcm(1M) router_type parameter is set to
FULL.
If the nwcm sap_file_compatiblity parameter is set to on, npsd
also starts the nucsapd daemon to maintain two directories,
/var/spool/sap/in and /var/spool/sap/out, for compatibility
with UnixWare 1.x applications.
The -t (track) option signals the SAP daemon to enable or
disable SAP packet tracing [see the description of the track
on command on the track(1M) manual page].
