       quotaon(1M) quotaon(1M)

       NAME
quotaon, quotaoff - turn ufs file system quotas on and off

       SYNOPSIS
             /usr/sbin/quotaon [-v] filesystem . . .
             /usr/sbin/quotaon -a [-v] filesystem . . .
             /usr/sbin/quotaoff [-v] filesystem . . .
             /usr/sbin/quotaoff -a [-v] filesystem . . .

       DESCRIPTION
quotaon announces to the system that disk quotas should be
enabled on one or more file systems. The file systems
specified must be mounted at the time. The file system quota
files must be present in the root directory of the specified
file system and be named quotas.

quotaoff announces to the system that file systems specified
should have any disk quotas turned off.

             The option for quotaon:

-v Displays a message for each file system where quotas are
                   turned on.

             The option for quotaoff:

-v Displays a message for each file system affected.

For both quotaon and quoatoff, the option:

-a Reports on all mounted file systems that have rq in the
mntopts field of the /etc/vfstab file.

These commands update the status field of devices located in
/etc/mnttab to indicate when quotas are on or off for each
             file system.

       FILES
             /etc/mnttab mounted file systems
/etc/vfstab list of default parameters for each file
                                 system
