       NAME
mountd - NFS mount request server

       SYNOPSIS
             /usr/lib/nfs/mountd

       DESCRIPTION
The mountd command is an RPC server that answers file system
mount requests. It reads the file /etc/dfs/sharetab,
described in sharetab(4), to determine which file systems are
available for mounting by which machines. It also provides
information as to what file systems are mounted by which
clients. This information can be printed using the
             dfmounts(1M) command.

          Files
             /etc/dfs/sharetab

       USAGE
The mountd daemon is automatically invoked in run level 3.

Only a privileged user can execute this command.
