DESCRIPTION

The text library, libtext, provides a variety of utilities for textual analysis, indexing, searching, and file analysis.  The link editor searches this library under the "-ltext" option.  Declarations for the functions in libtext may be obtained from the master include file <text/text.h>. 

SUMMARY

The text library comprises:

ArrayFromFile(3)
simple string-array functions, including ArrayFromFile, ArrayFromString, and FreeStringArray. 

fileutil(3)
file utilities, including fdSize, fdWrite, fileInode, fileMode, fileSize, filetab, filetype, filetypeFromDesc, filedescFromType, firstLine, isDirectory, isManPage, and writeDate.

webster(3)
functions providing access to the Merriam-Webster database, including referenceOpen, referenceClose, nextDefinition, getDefinition, getNextDefinition, freeDefinition, and putDefinition. 

wftable(3)
word frequency table functions, including isFunctionWord, suffix, wordPeculiarity, wordFrequency, wordCount, wordRank, wordStat, DefaultLanguageWFTable, makeWFTableFromHistogram, findWFTable, readWFTable, writeWFTable, and freeWFTable.
