XSTOP(1) — USER COMMANDS
NAME
Xstop − stop an X Display Manager
SYNOPSIS
Xstop
DESCRIPTION
The Xstop script stops xdm by running the system initialization xdm script with the argument stop. The xdm script sends the currently running xdm process a SIGTERM signal to which xdm should respond by terminating all sessions in progress and exiting. If xdm does not stop gracefully, the xdm script kills xdm with a SIGKILL signal. The xdm script then removes the xdm lock file.
FILES
