NCDLOGIN(1) USER COMMANDS NCDLOGIN(1)
NAME
ncdlogin - NCD login chooser
SYNOPSIS
rsh hostname login [-d display] [-n tcp|ncdnet] [-h host-
name] [-i] [-s]
rlcexec login [ option ... ]
DESCRIPTION
The ncdlogin program queries the network for available hosts
which will allow an X session login via the XDMCP protocol.
It then displays a Motif user interface listing the avail-
able hosts. The user may select a host from the list or
type in an alternate hostname. ncdlogin will then attempt
to start an X session on that host.
OPTIONS
The following options can be used with ncdlogin:
-d display
This option specifies the name of the X server to use.
The default is to use hostname:0.0.
-h hostname
This option specifies which host ncdlogin should try to
connect to, rather than waiting for the user to choose
a host from the menu.
-n network
This option specifies which type of network protocol
ncdlogin should use to connect to the selected host.
Currently supported protocols are "TCP" and "NCDnet."
The default is "TCP," unless a hostname explicitly in
NCDnet format is entered.
-i This option does not apply over NCDnet connections.
-s This option indicates that requests to the X server
should be sent synchronously for debugging, instead of
asynchronously. It should not normally be used when
running ncdlogin.
