HTY(7)  —  SPECIAL FILES AND DEVICES

NAME

hty − MVME338 tty interface

DESCRIPTION

The /dev/port/m338_c∗ device files define, for the host computer, the interface to MVME338 host adapter communication channels.  For each I/O device connected to the host computer through an MVME338 host adapter, there must be a /dev/port/m338_c∗ device created to allow communication between the host computer and the I/O device.

The devices are named using the convention; /dev/port/m328_cXdYpZ, where X is the number of the MVME338 controller; Y is the number of the cluster controller that the port is on, and Z is the physical port on the attached cluster cotroller. MVME338 controllers are numbered starting at zero, while the cluster controllers, and the ports on each cluster controller are numbered beginning at 1.  the host adapter.

To allow for future expansion, there may be more /dev/port/m338_c∗ files than there are actual physical devices connected through the host adapter.

The hty ports are functionally equivalent to /dev/port/m338_c∗ device files.  The minor number corresponds to the channel number as defined in the hty_config file.

The termiox settings supported by HTY are rtxsoff and ctsxoff.
