keylogin(1)  —  USER COMMANDS

NAME

keylogin, keylogout − decrypt and store, or unstore, secret key

SYNOPSIS

keylogin
keylogout

DESCRIPTION

The keylogin command prompts for a password, and uses it to decrypt the user’s secret key stored in the publickey(4) database.  Once decrypted, the user’s key is stored by the local key server process, keyserv(1M), to be used by any secure network service, such as NFS.

The keylogout command removes the user’s secret key from the local key server process, keyserv(1M), so that it can no longer be used by any secure network service, such as NFS.  The keylogout command does not affect the publickey(4) database.
