osid(8) CLIX osid(8)
NAME
osid - Runs daemon process that initializes/configures STREAMS ISO/OSI
stack
DESCRIPTION
The osid daemon reads the osid.cfg(4) file to retrieve information used to
configure the STREAMS stack. It opens each of the STREAMS modules in the
stack, and links them together in the proper sequence. It also reads
routing information from the /etc/hosts.osi file for the OSI/LAN product.
The osid daemon is loaded and initialized when you install the OSI/LAN
product. The daemon determines which drivers to include in the protocol
stack by reading the osid.cfg configuration file.
