  NAME

ffsfsstat - Reports file system status

  SYNOPSIS

    /etc/ffsfsstat special-file

  FLAGS

quiet Suppresses displaying of messages to stderr.

  DESCRIPTION

The ffsfsstat command reports the status of the file system listed in
special-file, which must be type ffsfs. The ffsfsstat command can be
    called from the fsstat command.

During startup, this command determines if the file system needs to be
checked before it is mounted. The ffsfsstat command normally succeeds if
the file system is unmounted and appears to be okay. The root file system
normally succeeds if the file system is active and not marked as bad.

  EXAMPLES

    1. The following command displays a message telling whether or not the
        /usr file system is okay.

        ffsfsstat /dev/dsk/s0u0p7.3

    2. The following command returns a 1 if the file system needs checking or
a 0 otherwise. This format is useful for shell scripts.

        ffsfsstat /dev/dsk/s0u0p7.3 quiet

  DIAGNOSTICS

The device named is not formatted as a fast file system.

    ffsfsstat: device mounted
The named device is mounted. The ffsfsstat command works only on
           unmounted file systems.

  EXIT VALUES

The ffsfsstat command returns 0 when the file system is not mounted and
appears okay (except for root where 0 means mounted and okay); if the file
system is not mounted and needs to be checked 1 is returned. A value of 2
indicates that the file system is mounted. A value of 3 indicates that
