uucheck
PURPOSE
Checks for files and directories required by BNU.
SYNOPSIS
uucheck [-v][-x debug-level]
DESCRIPTION
The uucheck command checks for the presence of the files
and directories required by the Basic Networking Utili-
ties (BNU) facility. The command also checks for errors
in the permissions file, /usr/adm/uucp/Permissions.
Note: The uucheck command does not check file/directory
modes or some errors in the permissions file, such as
duplicate login or machine names.
When BNU is installed, uucheck verifies that the directo-
ries, programs, and support files required to operate the
networking facility are present. The command is executed
automatically, as one of the first steps in the installa-
tion process, before the required BNU directories, pro-
grams, and files are actually installed.
Note: The uucheck command can be issued from the command
line if the user has superuser privileges. For example,
it would be useful to issue uucheck after making changes
in part of the BNU facility such as the Permissions file.
FLAGS
-v Gives a detailed explanation of how the
BNU programs interpret the permissions
file.
-x debug_level Displays debugging information on the
