MKLOST+FOUND(8,C) AIX Commands Reference MKLOST+FOUND(8,C)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
mklost+found

PURPOSE

Creates a directory with empty files for fsck.

SYNTAX

/etc/mklost+found ---|

DESCRIPTION

A directory lost+found is created in the current directory. A number of empty
files are created therein and then removed so that there are empty slots for
the fsck command. This command should not normally be needed since the mkfs
command automatically creates the lost+found directory when a new file system
is created.
