openfiles

PURPOSE

Specifies files to be kept open by cron.

DESCRIPTION

For performance reasons, if you want your most heavily used directories and
files to be kept open by the cron command, you must specify their pathnames in
the openfiles special file.

A default openfiles is provided with your system. When you edit this file, you
may include comments preceded by a pound sign (#) in the first column position;
any blank lines in the file are ignored by cron.

The maximum number of pathnames you may specify in openfiles is 48.

FILE

/etc/openfiles
