domainname



PURPOSE

Sets or displays the name of the current network information service (NIS)
domain.

SYNTAX

DESCRIPTION

The domainname command displays the name of the current NIS domain.  If you
have superuser authority, you can also use this command to set the name of the
domain.

A domain is a group of host machines in the network.  The name of the domain
typically is set in the startup script for the /etc/rc.nfs file.
