VIEWING MESSAGES AND REPORTS
HELP ON HP REMOTE WATCH MESSAGES
This selection in the Main Menu permits all users to obtain help text for all of the numbered messages in HP Remote Watch. In addition to the description of the message, the help text also suggests corrective action when appropriate. VIEWING CONFIGURATION REPORTS
All users may view the most current, previous day’s, or all of the configuration reports in the configured period for reports retention. The user may select all or either of the diskless, disks, kernel, LAN, lpstat, slashdev, and spu modules. In clustered systems, the user can select from the listing of nodes on that system. VIEWING E-MAIL ARCHIVES
All users may view the most current or all of the archived copies of messages e-mailed to the configured user. The user may select all, either, or a combination of the diskless, disks, dmesg, kernel, LAN, lpstat, security, slashdev, and spu modules. In clustered systems, the user can select from the listing of nodes on that system.
ONLINE HELP AND MENU SELECTIONS
Each of the selections in the Main Menu, and submenus to those choices, includes one or more of a set of four common menu selections: h) Help
d) Set all values to defaults
c) Cancel changes, and exit menu
s) Save changes, and exit menu
The Help selection provides help text pertaining to the menu currently being displayed. Where applicable, default values are included in the help text. Selecting h along with a menu item provides help text pertaining to that item. For example, entering h 6 when the Customization Menu is on the screen, provides help text pertaining to the Security parameter selection (Security parameters is selection number 6 on the Customization Menu). Similarly, you can obtain help on the remaining common menu selections by entering h, a space, and the letter d, c, or s, as appropriate. If the space is omitted, the help text will be that for the displayed menu and not for the specific menu selection. Selecting d) Set all values to defaults sets all the listed values to the defaults specified by HP Remote Watch. These default values will not go into effect unless "Save Changes" is also selected. Selecting c) Cancel changes, and exit menu cancels changes made in the current interaction with the menu; the changes are discarded and the previous values remain in effect. This selection also returns you to the previous menu. Selecting s) Save changes, and exit menu updates the operational parameters of HP Remote Watch with the newly selected values, which take effect with the next run of HP Remote Watch. This selection also returns you to the previous menu. Whenever you want to exit a particular menu that does not have the c, s, or e (for exit) choice available, such as those screens that prompt for Choice? or Value? you can return to the previous menu by pressing Return.
