NAME
     nologin - the /etc/nologin file

DESCRIPTION
     The /etc/nologin file can only be created by system administrators.
     Once this file has been created, users can no longer log in. This
     gives the system administrator the opportunity to carry out adminis-
     tration tasks, even in multiuser mode.
