NAME
     ypxfrserv - update daemon for auto-update clients

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypxfrserv

DESCRIPTION
     ypxfrserv runs on auto-update clients and fetches NIS maps from the
     network administration host if new maps have been created there.
     ypxfrserv converts the contents of the maps to the associated local
     files. The file contents of the client and the map contents of the
     network administration host are therefore immediately consistent and
     not first after the next periodic update by the client. To enable this
     to work, however, the auto-update client must be listed in the
     /var/yp/autoupdaters file on the network administration host.

     ypxfrserv is started automatically if an auto-update client is set up
     with ypinit(1M), or for every system start of an auto-update client
     with /etc/init.d/yp.
