NAME
     sldetach - deactivate SLIP interfaces

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/sbin/sldetach tty

DESCRIPTION
Using this command, you can close down an established SLIP connection.

The sldetach command establishes which process is responsible for the
specified TTY interface, and sends this process a signal. The process
then terminates and releases the TTY interface.

OPTIONS
tty is the name of the special file in the /dev directory, to which
the SLIP interface is to be attached. This name is specified
without the prefix "/dev/". The name specified here must be the
name of a special file that is being used by a SLIP connection.

In order to set up a connection to another computer, the interface
generated with slattach must be configured with the ifconfig(1M) com-
     mand.

When SLIP is terminated, the slattach process executing in the back-
ground should also be terminated in order to release the tty inter-
     face.

SEE ALSO
     ifconfig(1M), netstat(1M), slattach(1M).
