NAME
log3eventconvert - convert event description parameters to an object
format
SYNOPSIS
$LOGPATH/bin/log3eventconvert Event-Description-Files
[-o Event-Object-File]
DESCRIPTION
The log3eventconvert command is used to convert event description
parameters from the event description files to an event object file.
The event description parameters written in plain text are converted
to a format which is easy to read and to process for the event manage-
ment daemon.
OPTIONS
Event-Description-Files
The data in an event description file describes fully the event
to be monitored. The output of the converted data is sent to the
$LOGPATH/filters/log3event.object file. If the LOGPATH environ-
ment variable is not set, the default value /opt/log3 is assumed.
-o Event-Object-File
The output of the converted data is sent to the specified event
object file.
RETURN VALUES
The normal return value of the command is 0 and in the event of errors
is not equal to 0. The syntactic and semantic format errors of the
event description parameters in the event description files are sent
to stderr.
