NAME
checkmm, checkeq - checks documents formatted with the mm macros

SYNOPSIS
     checkmm [files]

     checkeq [files]

DESCRIPTION
checkmm stands for "check memorandum macros". Use checkmm or checkeq
to check for syntax errors in files that have been prepared for the
mm(1M) or mmt(1M) command. For example, checkmm checks that you have a
.DE (display end macro) corresponding to every .DS (display start
     macro).

The output for checkmm is the number of lines checked, and a list of
macros that are unfinished because of missing macros. If you do not
include a filename on the command line, checkmm takes input from the
     standard input.

DIAGNOSTICS
"checkmm Cannot open filename" File(s) is(are) unreadable

The remaining output of the program is diagnostic of the source file.
