NAME
biod - NFS daemon for asynchronous I/O

SYNOPSIS
     biod [nservers]

DESCRIPTION
biod starts the number of daemons for asynchronous block I/O specified
by nservers. This command is used on an NFS client to accelerate read
and write access (read-ahead, write-behind). The usual value for
     nservers is 4.

The biod daemons are automatically invoked in run level 3.
