     wc - word count (MLX addendum)

SYNOPSIS
     wc [-lwc] [names]

DESCRIPTION
     (International Functions)

     Files can contain characters from supplementary code sets.

     Options:

     -c   counts bytes, not characters. This has the effect that multibyte
          characters from supplementary code sets are counted multiple
          times, once for each byte (including any single-shift byte).

     -w   ignores characters from supplementary code sets while counting
          words (they have no effect in deciding word boundaries).
