SYNOPSIS
     nl [-btype] [-ftype] [-htype] [-vstart#] [-iincr] [-p] [-lnum] [-ssep]
     [-wwidth] [-nformat] [-ddelim] [file]

DESCRIPTION
     (International Functions)

     nl can process files containing characters from supplementary code
     sets. Searches are performed on characters, not on bytes.

     Options:

     -ssep
          Characters used for sep must be single-byte characters.

     -ddel
          Characters used for del must be single-byte characters.

     -bt  All characters from supplementary code sets are considered print-
          able.

     -ht  All characters from supplementary code sets are considered print-
          able.
