eucset(1) 06 Dec 1994 eucset(1)
NAME
eucset - set or get EUC code set widths
SYNOPSIS
eucset [ -p ]
DESCRIPTION
eucset assumes the existence of a line discipline which does canonical
processing of EUC characters in its standard input STREAM (usually a
TTY). The line discipline must recognize the eucioc calls to ioctl(),
as defined in the header file /usr/include/sys/eucioctl.h.
If given no arguments, eucset looks in the environment for the current
locale's LC_CTYPE category, and retrieves the corresponding character
class table, which specifies the code set widths and screen widths in
use (see wchrtbl(1M)). It then passes this character width information
to the line discipline.
If given the optional argument -p, eucset prints the current values of
the code set widths and screen widths as returned by the line discip-
line. These values may be different from what is currently in the
user's environment, but represent the widths that the EUC line discip-
line is currently using. The primary code set (ASCII) is excluded from
the listing.
RETURN VALUES
eucset returns 0 on success, 1 for failure of any call to ioctl().
