NAME
slip - serial line IP network interface driver

DESCRIPTION
The slip driver is a mechanism that allows IP datagrams to be sent over
the native asynchronous port(s) on the system board and some third party
multiport boards. SLIP is useful for connecting machines that do not
have Ethernet or Token Ring hardware by using a null modem serial cable.
It is also useful for connecting machines over dialout modems using the
      slipdialout command.
