NAME
      biod - NFS daemon

SYNOPSIS
      biod [ nservers ]

DESCRIPTION
      biod starts nservers asynchronous block I/O daemons.  This command is
      used on an NFS client to buffer read-ahead and write-behind. Four is the
      usual number for nservers.

      The biod daemons are automatically invoked in run level 3.
