signald(1M) DG/UX R4.11MU05 signald(1M)

NAME
signald - Interphase 5515 ATM signaling daemon

       /bin/signald [ -D afqsum ] [ -d device ] [ -h signalhostname ] [ -S
       ]

DESCRIPTION
signald Manages the UNI 3.0/3.1 ILMI and SVC signaling interfaces for
the Interphase 5515 ATM adapter which is required for RFC-1577
(Classical IP) or LANE (LAN Emulation).

The -D argument enables low level debugging from daemon startup and
prevents the daemon from running as a background task. One or more
debug options identifiers may be defined.

a - enables internal API level debugging information.

f - just forces daemon to run in fore ground.

       q - enable Q.93 level debugging

       s - enable Q.SAAL level debugging

u - enable UME level debugging

m - enable AAL level debugging

The device argument may be expressed in the following form: /dev/li,
where li is the name of the configured device driver. /dev/li is the
default device if no device is specified.

OPTIONS
-D Start the daemon in debug mode which causes it to both run in
the foreground and enable debug messages during startup.
These messages are output to stderr.

       -d device
              Device special file.

       -h signalhostname
              Defines hostname of signaling process.

-S Disable MIB sync after Addr Reg.

ERRORS
The following are termination error messages:

ATM Driver Interface Configuration FAILED, Aborting is displayed when
signald fails to open the the MAC Frame interface to the driver. The
Device busy indicates that another signald is probably running.

All other terminations will include an error prompt similar to:
SError: called Seq 3584, Reason 0.

NOTES
The current signald outputs all its user output via stderr. The
init(2) startup procedure directs this output both to the system
console and /usr/adm/signald.log. The latter allows the system
administrator to trace historical data or debug information.

FILES
/etc/atmconf.n Signal daemon and RFC-1577 configuration file.
