securidd(1M) DG/UX B2 Security R4.12MU02 securidd(1M)
NAME
securidd - SecurID ACE/Client authentication agent
SYNOPSIS
/sbin/securidd
DESCRIPTION
The securidd authentication agent supports authentication using a
SecurID PASSCODE. It is an ACE/Client that interfaces to an
ACE/Server to handle SecurID authentication requests. The securidd
agent communicates with credentiald and admauthdata, using the
authentication agent interfaces specified in adlibrary(3).
The securidd is not set up to run by default on systems with DG/UX
information security. In order to have user accounts that use
SecurID PASSCODE authentication in their authentication procedures:
1. The ACE/Server software and SecurID tokens must be purchased
from Security Dynamics Technologies, Inc. and installed on the
system that will be acting as the ACE/Server. Note that the
securidd ACE/Client only allows SDI encryption to be used, so
the ACE/Server configuration file for a client using securidd
must be set to use SDI encryption.
2. The securidd ACE/Client must be started by init as a
trusted_respawn action by adding an entry for securidd to
/etc/inittab. This entry can be added right after that of
dgpasswd:
secu::trustedrespawn:/sbin/securidd
3. The following sysadm menu must be used to administer user
authentication procedures to use securidd as an authentication
method:
User->User Session Attributes->Authentication->Step
4. The systems where the securidd ACE/Client is running must be
set up as clients of the ACE/Server.
5. Any users who will use SecurID PASSCODE authentication must be
activated on the ACE/Server as recognized users on a
particular ACE/Client.
